Prof. Giovanni Dotelli Professor of material science, life-cycle assessment, and environmental sustainability. He will be responsible for addressing circular-economy aspects. He graduated cum laude in Chemical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (1989) and received a PhD in Materials Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (1993). Since October 1, 2018, he has assumed the role of full professor in materials science and engineering at the department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “G.Natta” (DCMC) of the Politecnico di Milano. He heads the research group of Materials for Energy and Environment (Mat4En2), and since 2015, he has been on the board of the PhD in Materials Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano. He is an active member of the KIC EIT RawMaterials, which is the world’s largest innovation community in the raw materials sector. Giovanni Dotelli is co-author of more than 180 works (indexed in SCOPUS, h-index 27, total citations 2495 @ 10-09-2021) published in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters (ORCID: 0000-0003-1876-9881). Giovanni Dotelli has been responsible for several research contracts with leading industries and associations (Assoimballaggi/Federlegno), has been participant in and unit coordinator of PRIN projects and EU projects, as well as in international projects as LCA expert. He is a co-founder of and has been chief science officer at GENPORT for 8 years, spin-off of the Politecnico di Milano, whose mission is developing and producing highly innovative zero impact solutions for the generation and storage of energy (2009–2017)
